Welcome to the Good Stewardship course…
On-going re-registration of crucial chemistry means farming is facing a huge loss of active ingredients on which we rely to grow crops profitability and safely. To secure continuing access to these important products its vital operators pay stewardship close attention.
What you will learn
This module describes the background to the autumn herbicide stewardship schemes currently in use in the UK. It explains how pesticides can reach watercourses, why we need these schemes and the factors operators should consider when using these products.
The course looks at the active ingredients targeted and the measures that growers and operators are required to take to comply with the recommendations.
This course is worth 2 NRoSO points and/or 2 BASIS points.
Once you have successfully passed this course, we will send your points across to NRoSO/BASIS, so you don’t have to.
How to take the test
To pass this course we strongly suggest you read and become familiar with the content in the following text and illustrations. Follow the links in each section for more detailed information on stewardship of particular active ingredients.
Read the accompanying article and note the key points. Review the content until you are sure you understand the key messages. Having done this, you should know enough to pass this course.
