Recent farm assurance inspections have revealed several instances where operators have been found not to hold the correct qualification to use the pesticide applicator. Here we provide a reminder to agronomists to check the pesticide application (PA) certification required for the products they include in their recommendations.

In this course, the agronomist will:

  • Understand the key PA qualifications required for each type of pesticide applicator
  • Learn how spray recommendations might impact assurance schemes like Red Tractor if PA qualifications are not compliant
  • Check which qualifications are required for the applicator and if this will an impact on the advice being given
  • Understand an agronomist’s legal obligations regarding the operator’s PA qualifications required for the specified products and formulations

This course is intended as a general guide for qualified members of the BASIS Professional Register and is worth two BASIS points. NRoSO points also apply.

The course includes a PDF download for further information and future reference. At the end of the lesson there is an end of course test. You must achieve 80% in the test to earn two BASIS/NRoSO points. If you do not answer enough of the test questions correctly the first time, you will be able to retake the test until you do. Just click the restart test button.

Follow the prompts at the end of each page to move through the course to the final test.

Once you have completed the course and passed the test at the end, the course will show as 100% complete and we will then send your points to BASIS and/or NRoSO for you.
