ONLINE TRAINING – How it works
How do I do the training course – what’s involved?
All of our courses are online and can be accessed immediately after payment from the ‘My courses’ tab. By clicking on the course you wish to start, you will be taken to the course introduction page. Read the information on the page which will introduce you to the course and gibe further information about the course.
You will also see the ‘course grid’ which shows the course structure which includes each lesson, any end of lesson tests and the final test at the end of the course. All lessons must be accessed in the order in which they are presented. For example, you cannot move onto lesson three if you have not completed lessons one and two.
To start the course, click on the first lesson in the course grid. Read the material on the page an play any videos that are included.
We also include some Quick Quiz questions which are designed to check your knowledge throughout the lesson. They do not count towards your overall score. Answer each question using the multiple choice instructions in each question. Then click ‘check answer’ to see if you were right. Then move onto the next question until you have done them all. Move onto the next part of the lesson until you reach the end of the page.
At the end of each lesson follow the prompts to mark the lesson as ‘complete’ and move on to the next lesson.
Keep following the prompts at the end of every page until the last lesson is complete which will then take you to the end of course test. Follow the prompts to complete the test. You will need 80% to pass. When you submit your final answer it will indicate if you have passed or not. You can take the test as many times as it takes to pass.
To review any of the lesson content again if you are struggling to pass the test, or simply wish to review some of the information again, click on the lesson in the course grid you wish to access. You can use the course grid to move between the lessons until you are ready to do the final test again which you can also access from the course grid.
Once you have passed the final test, you will see a ‘congratulations’ message. If you are a members of NRoSO or BASIS the CPD points will be applied to your account with us and then we send the points across to the membership body for you, so you don’t’ have to.

POINTS – NRoSO and BASIS
How many NRoSO or BASIS points can I get each membership term?
All our courses are accredited by both NRoSO and BASIS but NRoSO will only permit up to 10 points per year for online training.
BASIS members are allowed to earn up to 18 points for online training and they get 2 extra points for subscribing to Pro Operator magazine. This does not apply to NRoSO members who get the magazine as part of their membership.
How do I get my NRoSO or BASIS points?
Once you have completed the course, your points are added to your PROFILE in your EiO account. Every few weeks we pull a report from the system which is sent to NRoSO and BASIS so that they can apply your points to your membership with them. This process can take up to 20 days. If you want to check your points, please contact your member organisation in the first instance. If you would like to check your points, go to ‘My Account’ once you have logged into your account with Ei Operator, or you can email us via the contact page on the website.
How long does it take to get my points added by NRoSO/BASIS?
Whilst we make every effort to send points to both organisations every 10-14 days, it can sometimes take another couple of weeks to update at their end. If you need to check, in the first instance please contact NRoSO or BASIS themselves.
My points are missing – where are they?
For all points queries, in the first instance, please contact your member organisation.
Once your points are 12 months old, they expire and are removed from your EiO account so that you may start afresh and earn another set of points.
If you have not been allocated points by NRoSO or BASIS and you are concerned they have been missed, please firstly check your NRoSO/BASIS numbers are showing correctly in ‘My Account‘ once you have logged in to EiO. If that information is missing, please email us via the contact page on the website.
Please note, whilst we make every effort to send points to both organisations every 10-14 days, it can sometimes take another couple of weeks to be added by them to your NRoSO/ BASIS membership.
I need my NRoSO/BASIS points urgently, what do I do?
Please allow yourself plenty of time between taking the courses and allowing your points to appear with NRoSO or BASIS as this process can take up to 20 days at peak times. If you are about to have your membership suspended, please email us at info@eioperator.com and we will try to speed things up for you, but this is not always possible and is highly dependent on NRoSO or BASIS responding to our emails.
How long are my points valid?
Your points stay logged on our system for 12 months. Once they expire, you can purchase the same course again or you can purchase a different course at any time.
