FarmRobo iMog named Ag Robot of the year
A small, low cost robot, the FarmRobo iMog, designed and built in India has taken the top spot in the AROTY – Ag Robot of the Year 2025. With a price tag of just €12,000 the autonomous multi-purpose machine beat others costing ten times more.
Judges in the AROTY competition, which is organised by Future Farming and World FIRA, praised the machine for not just its price, but also with 20 sold it’s already proving a practical option for its target market.
They also praised its ease of use, AI-assisted vision steering system, linkage and PTO, which they say provides great versatility. With its affordable price, the judges say the small, electric robot has the potential to hugely impact smallholder farmers’ lives, as well as find uses in larger, commercial operations.
The FarmRobo iMog was judged to fulfil the AROTY criteria by being an operation-ready, farmer friendly, profitable and scalable field and harvesting robot capable of automating one or more operations in outdoor grown crops. As well as capable of autonomous operations the iMog can also be manually controlled, via remote control.

Straightforward design
Powered by a 90Ah battery (equivalent to 8hp), it can operate for four to five hours, before requiring a recharge, which takes about two to three hours. The four-wheel drive machine weighs 250kg and delivers a workrate of about 0.4ha/hr, with a suitable implement.
Navigation for autonomous operations is provided by an RTK GPS, with AI-enhanced camera assistance and guidance optimised by a row-seeking algorithm. It also has a range of obstacle detection systems as well as an automatic stop. The compact, 1.22m long x 0.61m wide, dimensions deliver optimum manoeuvrability, allowing the machine to perform very tight turns and negotiate narrow rows.
Operations can be pre-planned on route maps and the machine comes with a touchscreen controller.

Multi-purpose machine
With integral linkage and PTO the FarmRobo iMog is can operate a range of implements (available from Farmrobo) including a rotary tiller, cultivator, HPT sprayer and mulcher. It also has the capacity to tow small loads.
