NRoSO and BASIS points:

Ei Operator offers a choice of online CPD training, which NRoSO and BASIS have accredited with points. NRoSO allow up to ten points per year from our courses and BASIS (for members of the Professional Register) allow up to 18 points per year.

If you are a member of the National Register of Sprayer Operators (NRoSO) or a member of the BASIS Professional Register, then you can access each course once every year. All you have to do is enrol, ‘checkout’ with your details and NRoSO/BASIS number, read the course material, take the test and then we will send your points across to NRoSO/BASIS.

Ten points

The Fundamentals Of Best Practice - 10 points : £70

The easiest possible way to earn all 10 NRoSO points without having to head to an external training event or find bits of paperwork. This course comprises five separate modules designed to take a sprayer operator through the fundamentals of day-to-day best practice. Topics include preparation, PPE, mixing and filling, storage requirements and reducing drift.

Eight points

Essential Maintenance for boom sprayers- 8 points: £56

This course explains how to carry out routine maintenance and checks, locate and remedy potential faults as well as how to make necessary adjustments. The course content is designed to promote accurate applications, avoid delays caused by unnecessary breakdowns as well as protect the operator, machine and environment.

Six points

Targeted applications - 6 points: £42

To achieve the maximum benefit from using plant protection products in arable crops, OSR and maize, it’s essential to employ the best application techniques to control the target problem at the optimum time in the growth stages. You will learn the key timings for product use on these specific crops and how you can maximise the potential benefit of product use by adjusting sprayers according to the crop and problem being targeted.

Four points

Attention to Detail - 4 points: £28

FSOOTY finalists usually stand out because of their meticulous attention to detail – nothing is overlooked. This course teaches operators how focusing on the details in four common areas can bring big improvements in safety, application efficacy and efficiency while also helping to protect the environment.

Essential stewardship - 4 points: £28

This course describes the background to the essential stewardship schemes currently in use in the UK. It explains how pesticides can reach watercourses, why we need these schemes and the factors operators should consider when using these products.

Two points - short courses

Safe and legal in store – 2 points: £14

This course explains the requirements for fixed and mobile storage of plant protection products by professional users. It provides an overview of the legal requirements for the storage of products, including storage safety, structure, maintenance, management and mobile storage.

Formulations - 2 points: £14

This course considers the principal pesticide formulation types found in the UK and the factors that operators should consider. It explains the main advantages and disadvantages of each kind of formulation and the key things to consider when handling, storing and mixing the different types.

PPE Get covered – 2 points: £14

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has a unique role in the authorisation and use of plant protection products. This course will help you reduce the risk of personal contamination and meet the legal requirements regarding PPE use when handling and applying plant protection products.

Calibration for boom sprayers - 2 points: £14

This course describes the process of calibrating a boom sprayer. It explains how and why calibration should be undertaken, the factors that an operator should consider, different methods of calibration and how they can be done safely to ensure products are applied accurately and in compliance with the label and manufacturer’s instructions.

EiO annual subscription - 6 points: £39
